Years of Sally - 2016

 

Not for the first time, in her acting career, Sally was to be murdered in 2016. In the second episode, of the new series "Agatha Raisin", entitled "Hells Bells" she was to play Amanda Ballard leader of the village bell ringers. Quite a pushy character she is to be found, in the belfry, with a suicide note. It was eventually to be solved by Agatha, played by Ashley Jensen now starring in Shetland, as murder.

Of note, for the "Agatha Raisin" series was the fact that one of the lead characters was played by none other than Katy Wix of "Not Going Out" fame.

In 2016 Sally was cast, alongside Kris Marshall, in the hit BBC show "Death in Paradise". Marshall was preparing to leave his role as DI Humphrey Goodman. Sally was to play the role of Martha Lloyd who was to become Goodman's love interest and to draw him away from the island. The fledgling romance began in episode 8 of series 5 when Humphrey nearly runs over a tourist. The tourist turns out to be Martha who Humphrey had known from a coffee shop "back in old blighty". The first, nervous, attempts at a date splutter when Humphrey is delayed by having to provide support for one of his team who is suffering nerves about his impending marriage. But they are finally to connect when Martha, in her taxi, almost runs over Humphrey (returning the favour) at the wedding party. The seeds are sewn....
