Years of Sally - 2009
In 2009 Sally had a very short role in a short movie, "Jubilee". Two members of a right wing political party are canvassing for support in a housing estate. The Story surrounds the differing motivations of the two men. Sally plays "Skinny Mum" who, along with "Grubby Mum" is canvassed after receiving a knock on her door.
It has been stated, on a number of occasions, that Sally first appeared, with Kris Marshall, in the "My Family" 2009 Christmas Special "2039: A Christmas Oddity ". This is not true. Although Marshall was to become a household name through "My Family", he did not appear in the 2009 Christmas Special. Sally, on the other hand, did. She played Cheryl, partner of Richard (played by Nathaniel Parker who was later to appear, as Sally's on stage husband, in the play "An Ideal Husband"), Ben Harper's (Robert Lindsay) rival cousin. The rivalry spirals out of control also enveloping the partners Cheryl and Susan (Zoe Wanamaker) who end up in a brawl at a School Nativity. "My Family" was a very funny series and Sally's contribution was hilarious.
2009 saw Series 3 of "Not Going Out" hit the screen. Sally was back as Lee's live in landlady as her role really started to settle in. The series, for Sally, included a pregnancy, a lesbian encounter, a birthday party, a speech, a wedding and a first Christmas with Bobby Ball.
